Has what the Taliban did in Pakistan, killing school children and teachers, enhance the reputation of Islamic religious leaders or even the image of Mohamad?

The Taliban and ISIS seem to be just destroying the image of their faith. How sad that a fundamentally good Faith is being destroyed by the actions of armed killers in the name of Islam.

How sick and sad.

Just grow up and do some good for the weak and innocent.  

Cuba and sanctions - Castro

Sanctions have not helped any of the Cuban people.

So well done to Obama for getting on with the job of making the world a better place.

Why the opposition, it gets no one any benefit. Perhaps it is just a Power issue.

Give the people the power. Even the USSR could not keep its population locked up behind the Iron curtain for ever.

Nelson Mandela and Political action

May Nelson Mandela rest in peace and my sincere condolences to his Family.
There is no easy way to say goodby to a truly wise Friend and Leader. May South Africans not forget him.

There are many Politically or Religiously motivate aspiring "Leaders" who still believe that Fear, Intimidation and Bullying is the way to move their Cause forward, hopefully the loss of such a Generous spirit will make those who cannot compromise "Pause and think" of what they can really do that will lead to a "Better World" for their followers.

There are Irish and Middle Eastern activists and Politicians who can learn from Nelson Mandela's legacy. I hope they do.   

Banking and social justice

Here is a well thought out commentary on the behavior of banks.

Are they really just trying to line the pockets of the management or do they actually contribute to the good functioning of society.

This is an interesting view that is worth listening too.

Dear Mr. Putin

Dear Mr. Putin,

How are you going to make Syria comply with your Chemical weapon plan?

Russia and Syria

The proposal by the Russians to take control of and Chemical weapons or material in Syria is good if they can deliver.

A real test of US diplomacy is for President Obama to keep pushing Putin to deliver.

Russia as now put it's own credibility on the line in full view of the world media and the United Nations.

It is a far bigger test of US leadership to see this proposal through to the end in partnership with Putin and the UN than just throwing explosives at Syrian military targets.

Go for it Obama (and Cameron et al)
